The sultry, gregarious and personable woman called "Sunny Bleau" is known for her straight forward lyrics, passionate performances, strong vocals and playful personality. People close to Sunny describe her as a ray of sunshine when she enters a room. As Sunny and her Producer and song-writing partner, Nicholas A. Cocco, started to work on her first singles and stage show they wanted to create something that felt like an escape form the everyday.
"Sunny Bleau looks at life through rose colored glasses (literally). She always sees the glass as half full and she is always ready to have a good time. Sunny is who every person who feels like life shit all over them wants to be around! Think about who and what you could be and do if only... people could look past the size, shape and color of another person. If only people would stop telling us that we're no good, or that we're not talented enough or that we're too heavy or too short! What would life be like without hurt or abuse? Imagine a life without regret! Yes, a life without social depression! A life without being afraid! A life where you don't feel unworthy! A life without racism or classism... a life without labels!
Sunny lives in that imaginary utopia where love and acceptance flows like honey and carbohydrates (and maybe a protein) are served at every meal! Sunny is big, beautiful, bold, strong, and compassionate. She isn't afraid of life, love, romance or her curves! She tells stories about what's in her heart that offer a simple escape from the craziness of the world. She isn't afraid to put herself out there for the world to see and to escape with! Sunny is on a journey to provide a musical vehicle to all who need to feel included in a positive, warm, playful environment.
I’m a Blues singer. I like to sing all kinds of music, but I love the space that singing the blues gives me! I started singing in school choir as a kid. I've sung in musicals, karaoke, talent shows, bands, bars, churches, senior centers and adult care homes, country clubs, weddings and just about any other place where music is in the air! If there is music, I want to be there! I feel like music gives so much to everyone.
I like songs that are straight-forward, honest and raw. I don’t try to sugar-coat things. I am not into drama nor am I trying to be controversial. I write from my own heart with only my life's feelings, experiences, perspectives and situations. The really good news is that life has taught me that other people have experienced similar moments in their lives where they are faced with the same feelings or thoughts I’ve had in my own journey. So, I learned that as long as I write from a place of truth and vulnerability, other people will be able to relate and make the music their own. And that is what I really want.
There’s this overly optimistic side of me that hopes everyone will like what me and my team puts out, but that isn’t reality! Some people will hear it, regardless of their age and experiences, and they will love it, and some people, even within my own demographic, will hear my songs and just hate them! And that’s OK! Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. But I think the audience who will appreciate my music the most are people who have made mistakes, felt regret, lived, loved, lost… people who want to hear something real about pain and love and sex and overcoming obstacles.
When I write songs, I believe they have to be unapologetic. Every story is different. I work hard with my Producer, Nicholas A. Cocco, Assistant Producer, Alex Karasinski and the song-writers and other professional musicians at 148 South Street Studio to develop the story and the musical arrangements that work best to tell each individual story. I am in each story, and I like to think that other people will imagine themselves in these stories. People need an escape from the burdens of daily reality, and I love to performs them and bring each individual person into each song with me!
